Prior to joining Early Stages, Dan Monaco established the Development Communications Manager position at The Doe Fund, an organization that seeks to reduce homelessness and criminal recidivism through paid transitional work.  At The Doe Fund, Dan created and implemented targeted campaigns directed at individual donors; identified and crafted proposals for foundations and corporations; developed collateral, themes, and appeals for special events; oversaw the expansion of multimedia marketing efforts, focusing disparate online outreach methods into integrated appeals that reinforced a core message; and helped coordinate a volunteer program for donors.

Dan attended UCLA’s School of Theatre, Film and Television, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in film, and later studied at Northeastern University, from which he received a master’s degree in literature. His play The Picnic was a Princess Grace Awards finalist, and his play A Certain Arrangement was a finalist in the Clauder Competition, founded by the late Betsy Carpenter. His play Mushroom Kiss was produced in New York in late 2008. As a communications consultant, Dan has worked closely with Chinese democracy activist Yang Jianli.
