Susan Dwyer is a partner in Herrick's Litigation Department and chair of
the Product Liability Practice Group, has been on the forefront of handling
national complex products cases for over two decades.
Susan litigates in state and federal courts across the United States and
serves as national and regional counsel for Fortune 500 manufacturing
companies in mass tort litigation and consumer class actions. She has
in-depth experience in post-recall litigation as one of Bridgestone
Firestone's trial counsel in multi-district litigation involving the tires
designed for the Ford Explorer. Susan defends companies in class actions
and before state and federal agencies. In addition to her experience as a
trial attorney, Susan specializes in conflict management outside the
traditional litigation process to help clients control risks and costs through
non-adversarial resolution of claims.
With extensive nation-wide trial experience in cases involving catastrophic
injuries, Susan oversees a large docket on behalf of manufacturers in the
automotive, industrial machinery, chemical, pharmaceutical and paper
industries. She also handles commercial matters including construction
litigation, employment-related litigation and contract disputes. Her
pragmatic and tenacious approach to conflict resolution has led clients to
consult with her on dispute avoidance topics and she regularly counsels
companies on crisis management and preparedness, document retention
and communications, and early case assessment and resolution.
Susan has been a sustaining member of the Product Liability Advisory
Council for the past 25 years and has served as a member of PLAC's
Executive Committee. She is a frequent author, lecturer and commentator
in the product liability and toxic tort fields and has co-authored the Tort

Edition, as well as Products Liability in New York. Susan has been
recognized by Chambers USA as one of America's Leading Lawyers for
Business in Products Liability and Mass Torts, and in 2010, was identified
as one of seven lawyers who qualified as a "Star Individual." She is the
