Vernon Beckford is the Director of Galea Advisors (www.galeaadvisors.com), a distressed investment & business recovery consultancy. Prior to joining Galea, Vernon worked at Credit Suisse in the Real Estate Finance Group, engaging in fixed and floating rate debt issuance. Vernon also joined Credit Suisse Asia to help establish a Japanese structured finance platform and execute the first major transaction in that office.
Mr. Beckford’s commitment to volunteering goes back over ten years when he took on a leadership role with Let’s Get Ready, a SAT and college preparation program suppo rting high school students in under-served communities. He subsequently became a mentor and corporate Liaison to Credit Suisse for SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity), a career development organization that prepares college students for careers in law, finance, & philanthropy. In 2007, Vernon founded the Alfred Lucille Grevious Scholarship, which awards $1,000 annually for high achieving high school seniors.
