Caron Levis has worked with Early Stages since 2007. She has been working with kids and arts education for over a decade, using storytelling, creative drama, and writing to teach self awareness, communication, and literacy skills. She is the author of Stuck With The Blooz, a picture book forthcoming with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2012; her teen fiction can be found in Sudden Flash Youth, a new anthology by Persea Books: her short story Permission Slip, published in Fence Magazine and listed in The Best Nonrequired Reading 2010, will be included in a new upcoming anthology by W.W. Norton. Her plays have been voted Audience Favorite at the Estrogenius Festival and The Samuel French OOB Festival. She has an MFA in Creative Writing for Children & Young Adults from The New School University and has studied acting at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, the Moscow Art Theatre, and the Michael Chekhov Acting Studio. She hopes to inspire courage and curiosity in all her students. www.caronlevis.com
