Malika Lee Whitney, also one of the country's leading storytelling artists, performs regularly at Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, and other major venues. Her repertoire celebrates the African and Caribbean experience in particular, using her encyclopedic knowledge of folklore traditions linking diverse cultures from around the world. As Artistic Director of Pickney Productions and The Pickney Players, Ms. Whitney produces and hosts a radio show heard for many years on WBAI. She also facilitates intergenerational workshops through a program entitled Significant Elders, involving public school youth and seniors. Malika has expanded upon this program with Early Stages in an initiative called "SO MUCH TO TELL".
